Mariusz Waras

Urodzony w 1978 w Gdyni, doktor habilitowany, obecnie zatrudniony na stanowisku profesora Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Gdańsku, gdzie prowadzi Pracownię Street Artu na Wydziale Architektury, na kierunku Architektura Przestrzeni Kulturowych. Dyplom magisterski i doktorski obronił w Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Gdańsku, w latach 2008-2014 był tu asystentem prof. Jerzego Ostrogórskiego w Pracowni Malarstwa, w latach 2010-2013 prowadził Pracownię Projektowania Graficznego na Wydziale Rzeźby w Katedrze Intermediów, następnie pomiędzy 2013 a 2014 r. był asystentem prof. Henryka Cześnika w jego dyplomowej Pracowni Malarstwa. Od 2014 do 2021 roku prowadził Pracownię Obrazu i Street Artu na Wydziale Malarstwa i Nowych Mediów w Akademii Sztuki w Szczecinie. Oprócz pracy akademickiej, zajmuje się projektowaniem graficznym, tworzeniem instalacji przestrzennych i malarstwem wielkoformatowym.

Born in 1978 in Gdynia. He holds a habilitation and is a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, where he leads the Street Art Studio at the Faculty of Architecture. He defended his MA and PhD at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. From 2014 to 2021 he led the Studio of Image and Street Art at the Academy of Art in Szczecin. He works in large-scale painting (murals), spatial installations and graphic design. He is the creator of the m-city mural series and is recognised as a leading figure in international street art. He has curated numerous exhibitions and events and has served as curator of the Dictador Art Masters festival in Colombia since 2018. In collaboration with Dictador he developed an NFT collection (ArtHouse Spirits DAO) and created the ‘M-city Golden Cities’ bottle, sold for 1.5 million dollars.
