Marcin Zawicki
Malarz, rysownik, autor instalacji przestrzennych. Studiował na Wydziale Malarstwa Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Gdańsku (2005-2010), gdzie uzyskał dyplom z wyróżnieniem w pracowni profesor Teresy Miszkin. Jego Praca dyplomowa "Hollow Art" zdobyła Nagrodę Rektorów – Grand Prix w konkursie Najlepsze Dyplomy ASP 2010.. W 2015 roku na macierzystej uczelni obronił pracę doktorską "Chorografia", promotorką była profesor Anna Królikiewicz. Doktorat otrzymał wyróżnienie Rady Wydziału Malarstwa oraz Nagrodę Rektora ASP. W 2021 roku po uzyskaniu stopnia doktora habilitowanego pracuje na stanowisku profesora uczelni na Wydziale Malarstwa Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Gdańsku. Autor kilkudziesięciu wystaw indywidualnych i zbiorowych, w kraju i za granicą, laureat wielu nagród i wyróżnień. Laureat Wyróżnienia w X konkursie im. Jego prace malarskie powstają w oparciu o przygotowanie wcześniej makiety – rodzaj autorskich martwych natur.

Painter, draughtsman and installation artist. He graduated with honours from the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk in 2010 under Prof. Teresa Miszkin; his diploma project Hollow Art received the Grand Prix (Rector’s Award) at Najlepsze Dyplomy ASP 2010. In 2015 he defended a PhD thesis Chorografia (supervisor Prof. Anna Królikiewicz), distinguished by the Faculty Council and awarded by the Rector. Since 2021 he has held a habilitation and works as a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (Faculty of Painting). He has presented numerous solo and group exhibitions and received multiple awards, including Rector’s prizes and distinctions at the Geppert Competition and the Bielska Jesień Painting Biennale. His paintings are based on self-made scale models functioning as still lifes; over time these model-inspired installations became an autonomous, often monumental form. He also contributed to scenography for the film Las (dir. Joanna Zastróżna) and co-ran the independent Tajna Galeria in Gdańsk (2018–2020). Since 2020 he has served on the Gdańsk Council for Culture.
