Krzysztof Polkowski

Urodzony w 1958 roku w Gdańsku. Studiował w PWSSP (obecnie ASP) w Gdańsku, dyplom obronił w pracowni profesora Kazimierza „Kacha” Ostrowskiego w 1985 roku Od 1997 roku pracuje na macierzystej uczelni, gdzie jest adiunktem w stopniu dr hab. sztuki na Wydziale Malarstwa. Od 2013 roku prowadzi Pracownię Podstaw Malarstwa i Rysunku, w latach 2012-2016 pełnił funkcję Dziekana Wydziału Malarstwa, 2016-2024 pełnił funkcję Rektora Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Gdańsku. Posiada w dorobku kilkanaście wystaw indywidualnych oraz brał udział w ponad stu wystawach zbiorowych w Polsce i zagranicą, jego prace znajdują się m.in. w Muzeum Narodowym w Gdańsku, Galerii Miejskiej w Osterholz-Scharmbeck, kolekcji Mariana Biesiady.

Born in 1958 in Gdańsk. He studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and graduated in 1985 under Prof. Kazimierz ‘Kach’ Ostrowski. Since 1997 he has taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, currently as a habilitated doctor at the Faculty of Painting. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Painting (2012–2016) and as Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (2016–2024). Since 2013 he has led the Studio of Foundations of Painting and Drawing. He has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in over one hundred group exhibitions; his works are held in collections including the National Museum in Gdańsk and collections abroad.
