Anka Leśniak

Absolwentka Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Łodzi ukończonej w 2004 roku dyplomem z wyróżnieniem na Wydziale Edukacji Wizualnej (obecnie Wydział Sztuk Wizualnych) oraz Historii Sztuki, gdzie obroniła pracę magisterską z zakresu sztuki współczesnej w 2003 roku. W 2016 roku obroniła doktorat na Wydziale Rzeźby i Intermediów Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Gdańsku. Autorka książki Invisible inVisible. Autorka projektów: Body Printing (od 2007), Top Models (2008-2009), Fading Traces (2010), Zarejestrowane (2011), Invisible inVisible / Niewidzialne Widzialnego (od 2015), patRIOTki (od 2016) oraz Lost Element. Brała udział w ponad 90 projektach i wystawach indywidualnych oraz zbiorowych, m.in. Laureatka Stypendium Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego z Funduszu Promocji Twórczości (2011), stypednium Prezydent Miasta Łodzi dla Twórców i Animatorów Kultury (2015) Stypendium Kulturalnego Miasta Gdańska (2016).

Intermedia artist, researcher and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (Department of Intermedia). She graduated with honours from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź (2004, Faculty of Visual Education) and holds an MA in Art History from the University of Łódź (2003). She received a PhD in Fine Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (2016). Her work addresses the history of women and collective memory through projects including Body Printing, Top Models, Fading Traces, Invisible inVisible and patRIOTki. She is the author of the book Invisible inVisible. Women disconnected from history. Site-specific artworks on abandoned buildings (2017). She has taken part in more than 90 exhibitions and projects internationally and has received scholarships from the Minister of Culture, the Mayor of Łódź and the City of Gdańsk, as well as residencies and scholarships in Austria.
